Kani is our most intricate weave. The motifs sit close together, so the pattern covers the whole shawl rather than framing a plain centre. The embroidery is stitched by hand into the cloth rather than woven into it, so the pink and blue florals sit slightly raised on the surface. Against the beige ground the colours read as fresh and gentle rather than bold, which makes it an easy shawl to wear with most of a wardrobe. The silk-wool blend is lighter than pure wool, with a soft, fluid drape and a gentle sheen when it moves. It’s warm enough for autumn evenings and fine enough to layer over a dress or a coat.
