Kani patterning is the densest of our designs - motif packed against motif, so the colour shifts as the fabric moves. This one is worked as a continuous diamond lattice across the full body, each diamond holding its own miniature ambi (paisley), so the pattern reads as ordered rather than scattered. The border breaks from the jaal into a bold multicolour stripe, finished with a tasselled edge at both ends. Each piece is finished by hand, so small variations in weave and colour are a signature of the maker rather than a flaw.
