Rani means queen, and rani pink is the shade traditionally reserved for it - deeper and more saturated than a Western pink, with blue rather than orange underneath. Kani patterning is the densest of our designs, motif packed against motif, and on a colour this strong the density is what stops it reading as a flat block. It shifts as the fabric moves.
